ABOUT THE ROLE

This position entails overseeing Welshpool Operations, which involves quoting, planning, and managing mining equipment rebuilds as well as welding and fabrication services across the state. The role focuses on creating and executing the strategic plan for the business unit, contributing to WesTrac's goal of becoming the top CAT dealer in the Asia Pacific region. Responsibilities include nurturing a high-performing team that fosters a positive culture, establishing a safe and productive work environment that aligns with WesTrac's values. The Operations Manager will facilitate collaboration across functions to deliver customer-centric solutions and an unmatched customer experience. The role will take charge of the unit's financial performance, emphasizing a continuous improvement mindset to enhance efficiency and reduce overall service costs. This role will involve directly managing five individuals and reporting to the Group Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategic plan in line with corporate objectives and budgets.
  • Oversee financial performance, managing multimillion-dollar budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team that embodies WesTrac's values.
  • Lead and develop team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences for key clients in the mining and construction sectors.
  • Analyze data, prepare reports, and offer insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and minimize wastage.
  • Lead the unit to efficiently and sustainably achieve business goals.
  • Identify and implement operational enhancements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, align staff and customer expectations, and enact corrective measures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Progressing towards or possessing tertiary qualifications.
  • More than ten years of experience in a related industry.
  • At least three years of experience leading diverse teams in sectors like construction, mining, or heavy equipment.
