The Applications Group within CSIRO IM&T develops software solutions that support CSIRO's science and business functions.

The group supports in excess of 100 products; ranging from in-house developed to custom configured and the hosting of "off the shelf" products.

The Integration and Reporting team sits within the Applications group, providing data connectivity, data warehousing and data analytics services to the organisation.


Within this role you will work with data custodians and business analytics users throughout the organisation to understand and uplift their data literacy and skills, supporting them in their new roles.

You will contribute towards the building of a culture of trust and understanding, in relation to our business data, and help build and embed an analytics centre of excellence within the organisation.


Your duties will include:

  • Support business users in their use of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI, and other enterprise analytics tools, providing advice about appropriate use of data, demonstrating best practise in tool use and in data preparation.
  • Establish strong relationships with CSIRO's business data and analytics custodians, to help them understand and develop good analytics practises within their business units.
  • Develop, maintain, and curate best practise documentation and examples to help guide business users in the appropriate use of analytic tools.
  • Prepare and deliver training on analytics best practices to individuals and groups.
  • Coordinate and participate in user support meetings and respond to user enquiries submitted to the analytics yammer group.
  • Work with the Reporting Analysts and the BI Developers in the team, to help identify and develop data enhancements needed support emerging business needs.

Location:
Black Mountain ACT preferred.

Alternatively, applicants for Hobart TAS, Lindfield NSW, Adelaide SA and Clayton VIC will be considered.

Salary:
AU $105,806 to AU $114,500** pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Relevant trade certificate/diploma/bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in data science, business analytics or computer science.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating relationships with stakeholders and business users.
  • Demonstrated experience developing complex reports, dashboards, or analytics, in a range of business analytics platforms and tools.
  • A demonstrated understanding of information presentation best practices.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles and pitfalls of different data blending, or data transformation, approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business users in complex technical environment.
