The Opportunity
As Principal Project Officer you will be part of the Central Review Team, responsible for providing a proactive and collaborative approach to working with oversight agencies that review Communities' administration of the Children and Community Services Act 2004.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • conducting internal reviews of investigable child deaths and family and domestic violence fatalities to proactively identify practice issues and initiate timely practice improvements, and drafting the Department of Communities responses to the Ombudsman Western Australia (Ombudsman) to inform the Ombudsman's review of child deaths and FDV fatalities.
  • identifying and tracking issues that are common between cases to address emerging or ongoing barriers to child safety, and
  • developing and overseeing a strategic approach to the implementation of recommendations including joined-up or consolidated work where there are multiple recommendations relating to the same area of practice.
