We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy or Social Work Community Clinical Educator role within our dynamic allied health education team. In this newly created clinical education position, you will work closely with the Allied Health Mental Health leadership team, the Occupational Therapy and Social Work Discipline Seniors, Allied Health Education Leads, Allied Health Managers and Directors. You will ensure the provision of effective training and development of early career Occupational therapy and Social work clinicians in the Mental Health Allied Health Program.

What you bring:

You have been developing your clinical, education, project management and quality improvement skills or you are an accomplished Occupational Therapist/Social Work professional with a drive to teach others in your profession; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career.

You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence informed care to all patients, families and carers. You are an advocate of Monash Health's Strategic Guiding Principles.

You Are Also:

  • Committed to a leadership & mentoring role in Occupational Therapy/Social Work
  • Demonstrated extensive specialist skills and knowledge, and experience in your discipline therapeutically to support the emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual well-being of consumers and their families.
  • Committed to delivering patient centred care & advocacy in line with organisational and professional practice standards
  • Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively
  • Excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence

What You Need:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions.
  • Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in education and training highly desirable

OR

  • Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Masters of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW )
  • Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required.
  • Normally have at least seven years post qualifying experience.
  • Accredited Social Worker and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker: As approved by the AASW (desirable)
