The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Access & Acquisition Manager to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role involves managing land access and acquisition activities for major infrastructure projects across regional Victoria, and from the convenience of a home office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in land acquisition, stakeholder management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Land Access Strategy: Develop and implement effective land access strategies to support the company's infrastructure projects, ensuring timely acquisition and minimal disruption to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to facilitate smooth negotiations and acquisitions.
  • Negotiations: Lead negotiations for land access and acquisition agreements, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all land acquisition activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Project Management: Oversee land access and acquisition processes from inception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any disputes or issues that arise during the land acquisition process, employing effective conflict resolution strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support project approvals and funding applications, maintaining accurate records of all transactions and agreements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A tertiary qualification in Land Management, Real Estate, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in land access and acquisition, preferably within the utilities or infrastructure sectors.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of land acquisition processes, property law, and relevant regulatory frameworks in Victoria.
  • Attributes: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
