We have a newly created position for a Design and Construction Interface Manager to join our growing infrastructure team on one of our metro projects involving the design and construction of roads, structures, noise walls, street lighting and ITS and shared paths.


To be considered for this position, you must possess the following as a minimum:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or equivalent
  • Previous exposure to design and construction of civil infrastructure works will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading the development and implementation of interface agreements for major infrastructure projects
  • Experience with a sound understanding of the legislation, policy, processes and practices involved in planning for and delivering major projects within a government setting
  • Excellent communication skills

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the integration of design and construction teams and foster a collaborative environment focused on achieving best for project outcomes in both design and construction elements
  • Ensure safety, environment, quality, sustainability and community elements that influence the design to construction process are incorporated into the project by collaborating with the respective discipline managers
  • Review designs to ensure that they are compliant to project scope
  • Manage the design review process between Main Roads and all other required stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with NRW and project specific management plans and systems
  • Provide expert guidance to the construction team in relation to design and technical matters
