About the Role and Team:

The Senior Security Risk & Compliance Specialist (M&A) is a part of the Security Risk and Compliance team at Xero. Our team is large, global, and possesses both warmth and expertise. In this role, you will collaborate with various departments to enhance Xero's security risk and compliance posture, mitigating security incidents, and optimizing security controls. While focusing on Xero's Mergers and Acquisitions portfolio, you will also contribute to other projects, gaining knowledge on a wide array of topics.

What You'll Bring:

    • Experience in M&A within the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) sector
    • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Frameworks
    • Experience in mentoring

Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with internal and external security risk and compliance standards at Xero and its subsidiaries.
    • Support in maintaining Xero's information security management framework and ensure alignment with evolving threats and compliance requirements.
    • Engage and oversee service providers delivering security risk and compliance services for Xero.
    • Develop and manage security risk and compliance frameworks to document, quantify, and communicate risks across Xero.
    • Assist in creating security awareness materials and training for Xero staff.
    • Participate in customer and supplier security assessments.
    • Evaluate and implement solutions to automate and enhance risk assessment and compliance processes.
    • Stay updated on emerging security threats and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
    • Provide reports on Xero's risk and compliance status to leadership.
    • Coach and mentor team members to achieve their highest potential.
    • Mentor product team members on security risk and compliance during product development.

M&A Specific Responsibilities:

    • Conduct Security Due Diligence for potential M&A targets and report on related security risks.
    • Collaborate with teams to identify integration requirements and monitor security improvements for M&A activities.
    • Maintain M&A Security artifacts in compliance with industry regulations.
    • Assist subsidiaries in audit preparation and remediation efforts for compliance requirements.
    • Offer guidance on security risk and compliance matters throughout the M&A lifecycle.
    • Utilize effective project management strategies for collaborative work.
