About the role

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of analysers Pre and post analytical specimen handling Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens Filing and storage of specimens and data entry Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests Staying up to date with processing updates Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries Identifying and resolving problems on at the pre-analytic stage Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with Departmental and Organisational policies and procedures Participate in departmental continuing education program/s Manage shared mailboxes as required As directed, perform, unpack and maintain stock inventory to ensure continuity of testing and service provisions Where directed, and as appropriate with knowledge and experience, assist in training of other staff and facilitate training of new staff

Expressing ideas effectively in individual and group situations (including non-verbal communication); adjusting language or terminology to the characteristics and needs of the audience Develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders (both internal and external) by demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and providing solutions to customer needs Certificate in pathology and/or laboratory skills and techniques or equivalent Knowledge of quality assurance systems Problem-solve, work independently, and achieve objectives beyond expectations Prioritise and manage workload to ensure deadlines are met, work under pressure, and be a team member who can be relied on (including attendance and punctuality) Act in a professional, respectful and courteous manner at all times, and act as an ambassador of the Company Clearly follows processes and procedures for compliance to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards and Workplace Health & Safety Procedures Confidentiality of customer and Healius information Working effectively with team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority (. peers, customers and suppliers) Ensuring that a task is completed to the required standard by considering all relevant details; consistently following procedures; continually adhering to and monitoring processes Manage own performance according to position requirements and performance expectations Manage time effectively, complying with rosters and timetables Show commitment to achieving challenging goals Demonstrate a high level of personal motivation Examine and reflect on own performance and seek support and training as required Ensure safe working practices and obligations, as per the company WHS policy and procedures for all personnel on site - including visitors - are adhered to, to maintain a safe working environment
