About the role

WorkSafe's Strategic Communications team works with the organisation's business units and executive leadership to plan and execute communications that support strategic objectives and change.

As a Senior Advisor, you will work in partnership with WorkSafe's business units and the Manager, Strategic Communications to engage internal and external audiences and help to manage change.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Planning, developing and providing strategic communications content, in a range of digital and non-digital formats.
  • Providing proactive and responsive strategic and tactical communications advice, including change management communications advice.
  • Working with teams across WorkSafe to ensure communications align with strategy.
  • Helping to ensure a strategic approach to communications on emerging opportunities and risks.

About you

Your communication skills and attention to details are the key to your success in this role. You are a team-orientated person who enjoys delivering, mentoring and making an impact with your team. Ideally, you will have prior experience working in a complex organisation and will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing communications to support complex projects and the implementation of change.
  • Proven ability to synthesise material and issues to develop a clear narrative, key messages and persuasive presentations for senior executives.
  • Strong written, communication skills and the ability to present issues or messages clearly, simply and effectively to a range of audiences.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships, with highly developed influencing and negotiation skills.
  • A strong ability to plan and manage workflow with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
