Independent and successful Steel Fabrication company with an established history in NSW of over 20 years, with Production Manager and Workshop crew of up to 12 welders, boilermakers and other workshop staff, creating state-of-the-art advertising structures from start to finish.


About you

  • 3yrs+ experience Supervising/Managing a Steel Fabrication workshop crew
  • Strong ability to lead, manage and motivate Workshop staff
  • Successful completion of Certificate III in Engineering or 3yrs+ Fabrication or industry experience equivalent, including high quality welding to structural code standards
  • Experience implementing project schedules, timelines, OH&S and fabrication procedures
  • Highly developed communication and adept computer skills
  • Strong ability to read, understand and implement drawings for fabrication and welding requirements
  • Setting and Managing KPI's for factory staff
  • Experience managing conflict/resolution

About the role

  • Plan and allocate work to shop floor Welders/ Fabricators occasionally Installers, based on strengths and abilities.
  • Interpret drawings for fabrication and welding requirements
  • Ensure all Quality Assurance requirements are met including reviews, documentation completion, reporting and followups
  • Investigate and report all non conformance and rework
  • Identify and implement positive changes in cost reduction and waste elimination
  • Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and discipline as needed
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed in accordance with WHS requirements, policies and procedures
  • Assist Operations Manager with factory staff performance appraisals and objectives setting

Setup and oversee weld tests at interview stage when required
