About the Role:

The Residential Care Chef will be responsible for ensuring that residents receive nutritious and healthy meals at the right time, served in accordance with Anglicare's requirements. This involves preparing and serving meals, as well as maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious and appealing meals for residents, adhering to Anglicare's food safety plan.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of residents, based on Anglicare's Rhythm of Life principles.
  • Work with the team to ensure the highest quality food is ordered and received, in accordance with Anglicare's food safety plan.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to Anglicare's health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by working collaboratively and reporting any safety or equipment issues to the Residential Manager.

Requirements:

  • Certification III Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
  • Food safety supervisor certificate (desirable).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a servery or hospitality environment, including menu planning, food preparation, and portion control.
  • Experience in food hygiene and health and safety procedures, and maintaining high levels of record keeping.
  • Minimum of two years' experience managing or leading a team (desirable).
  • Previous experience in an aged care environment (highly desirable).
