Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a
Hazardous Materials Specialist to join our
Newcastle Contamination Assessment and Remediation team . Our team is one of the largest in Newcastle and is supported by our NSW EPA accredited Site Auditor. We provide mentoring, and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Winning and delivering projects for clients across government and private industry sectors, ranging from small to large scale.
  • All project stages, from client engagement, tender submissions through to project execution and completion.
  • Leveraging your knowledge and skills to deliver sound technical advice and achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Collaboration with our project delivery and technical specialists, locally and nationally
  • Developing your technical capabilities while working with experienced professionals on a variety of projects

What you will bring to the team:

  • Classed as a Competent Person in accordance with SafeWork NSW. Having a current Asbestos Assessor License is desired, but not essential.
  • Experience in undertaking hazardous building materials assessments (residential, commercial and industrial), asbestos assessments (soils & structures)
  • Experience with air monitoring, clearance inspections, hazardous material sampling, management of onsite safety, interpretation of results and preparation of hazardous registers & technical reports.
  • Demonstrated competency in proposal writing in a variety of formats and for a range of clients/sectors.
  • Experience working in a consultancy, with a preference for experience with infrastructure experience.
  • A proven commitment to HSE, your team and yourself
  • A commitment to successful project delivery
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a variety of audiences.
  • Valid Australian Driving Licence
