The Role

The Resort Manager directs and coordinates all activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations. Assisting the General Manager in day to day operations, the Resort Manager will bring a wealth of experience to manage a team of 75 overall whilst ensuring a premium guest experience at all times.

  • Assign duties to Department Heads, observe and assist with performance management
  • Assistance with recruitment and selection
  • Assisting with all Resort health and safety and brand standards
  • Assisting the General Manager with Business Planning
  • Building strong relationships with all staff and department heads
  • Supporting Management with overseeing financials inc; EOD balancing, accounts payable, stock
  • Customer centric approach, brand ambassador of Resort and demonstrating to team behavior, attitude and actions in line with the Discovery way standard
  • Receives and resolves complaints and service recovery and monitor guest feedback

Skills & Experience

  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor a team
  • Demonstrated success with financial analysis, planning and control
  • Strong background in all facets of operations
  • F&B, Front Office & Housekeeping departments
  • Good communication on policies, procedures, processes and change management
  • Proactive approach to guest satisfaction, experience and feedback
  • Have the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and all internal & external stakeholders
  • Experience with remote settings and keeping a positive staff culture

Qualifications

  • 23 years experience in Hospitality Management
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Tourism/Hospitality Management or equivalent (desirable)
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Working with Children's Check
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Liquor Licensee Certificate
  • Food Safety Supervisor
  • Occupational Health and Safety (highly regarded)
  • Manual C drivers licence
