Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts Full time

TARGETED VACANCY
It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
We're looking to find the person best suited for the role.

We will choose this person by undertaking a holistic assessment and considering what you have done previously - the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your ability to lead, your potential to make a key contribution to the future of Queensland, your personal qualities and how they contribute to building a diverse workforce that complements existing teams and reflects the diverse views, experiences and backgrounds of all Queenslanders.

Assist in effective liaison, negotiation and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, communities, and peak Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.

This includes coordinating and organising engagement opportunities across the state such as yarning circles and community roundtables.

Manage programs for the provision of support and advice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to write or record their truth-telling submission or prepare for participating in a truth-telling session or hearing.

Also engage as appropriate with other key stakeholders and interest groups across government and non-government sectors. Provide community engagement and advice and direction in relation to Inquiry initiatives.

Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide advice and proposed engagement activities relevant to people and communities that the Inquiry wants to engage with.

Manage the implementation of Inquiry programs, projects and initiatives to contribute to the achievement of the vision and objectives of the Inquiry.

Develop and maintain a network of people involved in the work of the Inquiry through building a wide range of internal and external relationships across Queensland.

Contribute to an accountable, fair and safe work environment through the implementation of management practices, policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunities, anti-discrimination and operational management.

Applications may remain current for 12 months
