  • Assist in effective liaison, negotiation and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, communities, and peak Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations. This includes coordinating and organising engagement opportunities across the state such as yarning circles and community roundtables. Provide support and advice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to write or record their truthtelling submission or prepare for participating in a truthtelling session or hearing. Also engage as appropriate with other key stakeholders and interest groups across government and nongovernment sectors. Work on projects and programs that support the effective delivery of the Inquiry. Provide community engagement and advice and direction in relation to Inquiry initiatives. Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide advice and proposed engagement activities relevant to people and communities that the Inquiry wants to engage with. Support the implementation of Inquiry programs, projects and initiatives to contribute to the achievement of the vision and objectives of the Inquiry. Develop and maintain a network of people involved in the work of the Inquiry through building a wide range of internal and external relationships across Queensland. Contribute to an accountable, fair and safe work environment through the implementation of management practices, policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunities, antidiscrimination and operational management.
