About the Role

The Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC) at BHP is expanding its team and is in search of new members to join them. As a Mine Controller for remote operations, you will be responsible for optimizing our truck fleet in central Queensland from the heart of Brisbane CBD. Working alongside the Mine Control team, your role will involve collaborating with onsite operations teams and other controllers to enhance production efficiency across our operations and the coal value chain.

You will operate in a dynamic environment focused on continual performance enhancement, actively participating in improvement projects to drive our progress further.

In this position, you will:

• Deliver the production schedule following the plan in coordination with operational teams
• Cultivate positive relationships with our site operations, including onsite visits to our mine sites
• Ensure compliance with operational benchmarks and minimize variances
• Collaborate with other teams to implement improvement strategies
• Engage in cutting-edge machine learning initiatives to enhance CHPP quality management
• Efficiently manage and optimize our Truck fleet to enhance safety, production, and cost outcomes
• Work in the heart of Brisbane CBD on a rotating day and night 12.5-hour shift roster

About You

As an IROC Controller, you will collaborate with site-based mining teams to drive safe production aligned with the operational plan. This responsibility includes monitoring operational performance, adhering to defined shift processes, and addressing plan variances within shifts. Your role will entail minimizing plan deviations through feedback, short interval control, and implementing improvement strategies. This position will challenge your ability to understand work processes, utilize operational control systems effectively, and apply these skills across control activities. We seek individuals:

• With strong relational and negotiation skills to influence and achieve desired outcomes
• Demonstrating a track record of applying work processes effectively to deliver results and adapt to changes
• Able to work rotating 12.5-hour shift patterns, including nights and weekends, with a willingness to travel to sites

Your key responsibilities will involve:

• Utilizing a Fleet Management system, particularly CAT MINESTAR, is advantageous
• Analyzing, driving performance, collaborating, and influencing effectively
• Demonstrating robust analytical skills to identify causes and develop rectification plans
• Possessing operational, planning, or engineering experience in mining or related fields with transferable skills
• Showcasing strong computer literacy and a capacity to learn new systems efficiently
• Thriving in high-pressure environments with strict deadlines
