The Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC) at BHP is expanding and seeking new members to join the team. As a remote operations fixed plant and port controller, you will oversee a facility in central Queensland from the heart of Brisbane CBD. Working within the fixed plant team, you will collaborate with onsite operations teams and coordinate with other controllers to enhance production efficiency at our operations and throughout the coal value chain.

In this role you will:

• Develop and nurture positive relationships with site operations, including travel to mine sites.
• Gain exposure to the entire coal supply chain, collaborating with other IROC teams to optimize interfaces.
• Participate in cutting-edge machine learning initiatives to enhance CHPP quality management.
• Manage and enhance plant/port processes to bolster safety, production, and cost outcomes for the business.
• Work in Brisbane CBD on a rotating day & night 12.5-hour shift roster.

We have open positions across various teams, with both permanent and fixed-term roles available.

The ideal candidate will exhibit all the vital qualities of a successful controller – a dedication to personal and team safety, composure under pressure, a thirst for learning, proactive initiative, and a drive for excellence. Prior experience in control roles at a Processing Plant or Port Facility within mining or similar heavy industries will be highly valued. You should be capable of working 12.5-hour shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and site visits if needed.

• You should be a motivated individual proficient in relationship building and negotiation to influence outcomes.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of adhering to work processes efficiently to deliver results and adapt to changes.
• Showcase strong computer skills with a knack for learning new systems.
• Excel in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
