Work Safe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the WHS Commissioner.
Work Safe ACT achieves its objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation.
It is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance by duty holders in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and associated legislation including dangerous substances, workers' compensation and Labour Hire Licensing.
We have an exciting permanent vacancy for a suitably skilled professional to fill the role of Director, Corporate, Capability and People.
In this role you will manage a wide range of duties, including the management of strategic human resources, industrial relations, capability development, audit and risk functions and corporate services.
The role directs a team which provides a range of corporate business supports.The successful candidate will have high-level experience in corporate business support including proven knowledge of industrial relations and human resource practices and policies, strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience for building organisational capability.
If successful, you will:
form part of the broader Leadership Group and play a key role in providing expert advice on employment, training, and corporate matters, and contribute to the overall strategic management of Work Safe ACT
lead and manage the operations of Work Safe ACT's Corporate, Capability and People team to ensure the delivery of high-level agency wide customer service, and
oversee Work Safe ACT's audit and risk functions including coordinating internal audit functions and procedures including managing the Audit and Risk Committee.
