Southern Cross Switchboards (Australia) Pty Ltd, a privately-owned company with over 26 years of experience, specializes in the design, manufacture, and testing of custom-built modular low voltage electrical switchboards.


In light of the ongoing growth opportunities in the industry, we are excited to invite a trades assistant to join our bustling manufacturing facility located in Silverwater, NSW.

This role offers a positive and rewarding work environment, along with opportunities for career development, training, and a diverse range of experiences through various projects and disciplines.


As a direct report to the Workshop Team Leader, this position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to be part of a highly motivated, well-established, and dedicated team.


Main Duties:

  • Complying with safety standards at all times
  • Manufacturing of Electrical Switchboards
  • General housekeeping

Key Skills and Requirements:

In addition to the above, it will be an advantage to experience with:

  • Busbar bending, punching, and cutting.
  • Familiarity with Elsteel or similar modular switchboard systems is preferred.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities and mechanical aptitude are needed.
  • Experience in a team environment and a commitment to Occupational Health and Safety principles are desirable.
  • Capability to lift weights up to 15kg is necessary.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately is required.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic are expected.
  • Possession of a current driver's license (confident manual driver) is an advantage.
  • A WHS Industry Induction Card would be considered an advantage_._
