About Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Unit
The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine looks after children with a wide range of disorders affecting breathing and sleep.
Our expert team of specialist physicians and allied health professionals is highly experienced in the investigation and management of these conditions in children of all ages.
We specialise in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of asthma, cystic fibrosis and long standing cough.
Our integrative cystic fibrosis centre is unique in Australia as it is the only place where patients with cystic fibrosis can be treated from birth to adulthood and receive continuity of care from specialist physicians without the need to transition to a different hospital.

About the Role
This is a 0.45 EFT fixed term position for six months from 26th August 2024 till 23rd February 2025 at the Monash Children's Hospital. The applicant must have strong clinical skills in the care of inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic paediatric respiratory diseases, including cystic fibrosis, in a tertiary hospital setting. The applicant must have sufficient experience in flexible bronchoscopy to undertake the procedure independently.
The role includes participation in the consultant after hours on call roster, which is shared between 5 consultants. Current arrangements are 2 weeks on call every every 10 weeks.
What you need:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications (FRACP or equivalent) in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine
- Working with Children's Certificate
- Experience in paediatric sleep medicine is desirable but not essential
