About the position:


Wollongong City Council is seeking a Records Management Officer to help implement our continuous improvement program across records and information management.

The role will be responsible for managing Council's physical and electronic records, including appraisal and disposal, and providing staff with training and advice to enable them to capture records successfully.

Additionally, the role will contribute to key Council projects, including our cloud transformation project and post-implementation support of our new records management system.

Selection Criteria -

  • A relevant degree in records or information management and/or demonstrated, relevant experience in a similar role. Please outline how your qualification and/or experience is relevant to this role.
  • Tell us about your experience in managing digital and paperbased records, including description, appraisal, sentencing and disposal, in line with the obligations and statutory responsibilities of relevant State and Federal legislation around records management, e.g. State Records Act 1998 and the Australian Standard AS ISO 1548
  • Detail your experience in the migration of digital materials from a variety of current and legacy formats and the implementation of mechanisms to ensure authenticity, preservation and access.
  • Demonstrate your experience in electronic document management systems, please specify the systems you have used.
