About the position:

This role provides sustainable and proactive leadership and management of Wollongong City Council's information and corporate records.

You will be responsible for providing a consistent and well-managed approach to records management aimed at both organisational efficiency and compliance within the standards of the State Records Act You will also seek continuous improvement opportunities within the record keeping and information management practices to capitalise on digital capability as it evolves.


To be successful in this role will need to operate effectively in an environment of competing priorities and tight deadlines, with a capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.

You will have excellent personal qualities of leadership, innovation, and motivation along with experience managing and working with a multi-functional team.

In addition, you will have high level communication skills, both written and oral, the ability to give advice and information, and be able to interpret existing legislation and complex information management issues.

Selection Criteria

  • Advanced Diploma or higher, and/or certifications in records or information management or other qualification relevant to the position. Please outline how your qualification is relevant to this role.
  • Tell us about your substantial experience in managing a corporate records function within a large and complex organisation.
  • Detail your experience designing and planning delivery of effective whole of organisation Records and Information Management frameworks or projects
  • Outline your ability to provide expertise and technical knowledge across a range of information management activities including sentencing, destruction, and digitisation.
