The Position

  • Position Title: Freedom of Information Officer
  • Classification: HS3
  • Salary per hour (exc. super): $37.6
  • Hours per fortnight: 80 with an ADO every 4 weeks
  • Employment Status: Ongoing Full Time
  • Other requirements: COVID19 Vaccination

Role Description

  • FOI Officers receive requests under the FOI Act (Victoria), ensure they are valid and review the requests in full to ensure information is safely released to the applicant in a timely manner.
  • The FOI team are also responsible for coordinating information requests from police, subpoenas, and child protection.
  • This position would be perfect for someone with a medical and/or legal background, including clinical or senior administration, looking for a career change or challenge. FOI Officers require a very strong attention to detail, ability to investigate and confidently make decisions within delegation level, and have a strong understanding of privacy.
  • The successful applicant would be trained on the job, and therefore experience is not necessary, however would be advantageous.

The Team

  • The Finance and Resources Division is responsible for financial functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and analysis, together with our procurement, materials management and facilities management functions. The division also includes Health Information Services with key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, and external data reporting requirements. These are essential nonclinical services providing highquality support, advice, monitoring and compliance functions. The team are focussed on delivering the strategic vision within their responsibilities and on assisting the organisation operationally.
