Platform Engineer (Karpenter) at Eden Ritchie

Eden Ritchie is on the lookout for a Platform Engineer (Karpenter) to bring top-notch technical support skills to our Integration and Microservice as well as Event Driven Platforms, all residing in the AWS Cloud. These cutting-edge platforms consist of modern IT tools and methodologies that speed up the delivery of flexible business solutions tailored to customers' needs.
The main focus of this role will be setting up Karpenter in our AWS Microservice and MuleSoft RTF platforms.

  • 6 month contract
  • Based in Brisbane

As the Platform Engineer (Karpenter), you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and deepening your technical understanding of the systems and services, with a business-oriented approach.
  • Contributing to the establishment and upkeep of technical standards and support documentation.
  • Crafting high-quality DevOps-friendly platform components focusing on scalability, fault tolerance, and security.
  • Proactively spotting opportunities to enhance efficiency by automating current processes.
  • Effectively managing your workload and resolving support issues with varying levels of urgency within set timeframes.
  • Promoting best practices and offering hands-on technical support to facilitate Cloud knowledge sharing among colleagues.
  • Collaborating with QA specialists to ensure your deliverables contain the required unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Identifying complex risks, issues, and improvement avenues, and escalating them when needed.
  • Recording, documenting, and managing intricate changes following established ITIL standards and protocols.
  • Maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to uphold platform governance and security.
  • Ensuring the consistent creation and upkeep of ICT support materials such as network diagrams, work instructions, guides, and training content.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Karpenter, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrable expertise in lifecycle patching within microservice platforms.
  • Familiarity with best practices for cloud environment security.
  • Proficiency in producing clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Proven capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Valuable to have AWS Associate or Professional level certifications.
  • Varied experience spanning public and private sectors is a big plus.
  • Prior experience in deploying Karpenter on AWS EKS/Kubernetes environment.
