Permanent Part time position, working 15:00 - 19:00 on a shift cycle which includes weekends.**-
Salary packaging opportunities up to $15,900 per year
Exciting Opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our modern residential aged care home at Badcoe House in Newcastle. You'll spend your time cooking up some exciting and nutritious meals for our elderly residents €" they love their classic Aussie food and a freshly cooked breakfast

The role will involve:

  • Preparation and cooking of various meals for 60 residents including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
  • Support the Head Chef with maintaining a clean kitchen and ordering supplies
  • Complying with all infection control and safe food handling procedures
  • Timely completion of all required documentation and reporting
  • Liaising with our residents, their families, and the care team to create meal plans that our residents will enjoy.

Skills and Experience required**- Level 3 or above Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

  • Verifiable experience in the preparation and delivery of meals €"
    this can be in a hospitality setting, such as a café,
    club, or
    pub
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
  • It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to _commencing _employment with RSL _LifeCare _._
