The Community Events Co-ordinator will support stakeholders to plan, organise and execute various events.

Stakeholders include the Parents and Friends Committees at both Colleges, the Foundation and other community events such as Twilight Picnics.

This role is offered 4 days per work (30.4 hours per week) for 12 months.


All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of these Uniting Church day schools.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of the organisation and promotion of all community based school events in terms of arranging programs, events, meetings or conferences by booking facilities and caterers, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, liaising with external providers, formulating guest lists, prepare invitations and controlling event budgets for a range of College and Foundation functions.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify event objectives, themes and target audience.
  • Work closely with the Brand and Marketing Team to develop effective event promotion strategies through various channels, including social media, bulletins and websites.
  • Maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders to keep them information about upcoming events and encourage participation.
  • Events include new parent functions and continuing parent functions.
  • Prepare running sheets for each event, ensuring they are well communicated to all those requiring knowledge of the event.
  • Preparing Risk Management Plans for various community based events.
  • Ensuring good records are kept of all voluntary activity within the Colleges. This includes appropriate acknowledgement of the support provided by relevant volunteers after all events.
  • Ability to attend commitments outside of office hours.
  • Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The successful applicant will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Proven experience in event planning, co-ordination and execution, preferably in a not for profit setting.
  • Ability to work within a team and communicate clearly to a range of people.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise work and deliver to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using various communication tools, including social media platforms.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Completed or undertaking a degree in Business or a related discipline is desirable.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Working with Children Suitability Card is essential (Qld Blue Card).
  • Current Driver's Licence.

CONDITIONS AND SALARY

  • Parttime 60.8 hours per fortnight (0.8FTE), temporary for 12 months
  • This role is a School Officer role Level 4, as per the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement. $56,263.02 to $59,260.90 per annum. This is the 0.8 FTE prorata annual salary.
  • Prorata annual leave, sick leave and long service leave.
