POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you will plan and execute communications and marketing activities to drive business objectives, increase the visibility of the Red Cross mission, support revenue generation efforts, and educate the public on accessing Red Cross services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategy: Collaborate to develop and implement a strategic communications plan aligned with organizational priorities
  • Media Relations and Social Engagement: Develop and execute media relations and social media strategy, responding to local media inquiries and monitoring engagement data
  • Public Affairs and Crisis Communications: Support disaster public affairs activities, develop crisis communications strategies, and provide training as needed
  • Internal Communications: Implement internal communications strategies in collaboration with regional leadership
  • Management: Oversee performance goals, daily activities, and volunteer engagement

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related fields
  • 3 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, knowledge of AP Style, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in media monitoring, managing social media accounts, and serving as a spokesperson preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and travel occasionally

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The role may involve sitting, using hands, talking, reaching, standing, walking, lifting objects, and may require occasional travel.
