  • Two fulltime, continuing positions to lead Quality and Compliance initiatives for specialist industry clusters within a vocational education context.
  • Salary HEW 9 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.
About the positions

  • The Manager, Academic Quality and Compliance sits within the
  • College of Vocational Education (CoVE)

and leads a team of Quality Leads to oversee quality and compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to ASQA and TESQA regulations.


Responsibilities for each role:

  • Role 1: Overseeing end to end quality and compliance matters for the social care and health and built environment industry clusters.
  • Role 2: Overseeing end to end quality and compliance matters for the business and enterprise, creative industries and future technologies clusters.
  • The roles entail working with CoVE teaching teams to identify areas for improvement in learning and teaching related to specific industry clusters (as mentioned), developing systematic process solutions, providing guidance on quality and compliance matters and helps teaching teams implement changes with the aim to improve the learner experience.
  • The Manager, Academic Quality and Compliance will act as the escalation point in resolving any matters related to learning and teaching and uses project management methodologies to promote change and create process improvements.
  • The roles will maintain close ties with the Learning Experience team, Academic Governance and Reporting team, as well as all other CoVE support teams to ensure proper quality control and regulatory compliance. As the key contact for advice on these matters, the Manager, Academic Quality and Compliance must uphold CoVE's requirements while empowering staff to find solutions to any issues that arise.
  • About You
  • To be successful in this position, you'll have:
  • The ability to forge collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries and to connect and work with diverse teaching and professional staff to maintain positive, productive relationships that influence improvements in learning and teaching quality.-
  • Proven experience managing learning and teaching quality processes within VE contexts including, audits, risk identification and management, and external compliance requirements, AQF, AQTF, ASQA, VRQA, ESOS and HESG.-
  • Experience leading specialist teams and driving quality improvement through influence and collaboration.-
  • Experience in planning and implementation of improvements to systems and practices within educational contexts.-
  • A high level of attention to detail and proven ability to source, interpret and analyse data from a range of internal and external sources and the ability to articulate this information into insights and reporting for senior educational leaders.-
  • The ability to coordinate and implement projects in education settings, utilising effective management principles of planning, resource allocation, communication, teamwork, evaluation and reporting.
  • Qualifications
  • Mandatory: An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above in teaching and learning which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.
