Your team
The Enterprise Data team enables Great Southern Bank's business units to make timely, data-driven decisions. We are a team of data and technology specialists that partners with teams from across the organisation to solve business problems and are responsible for governing, growing and maintaining the bank's Enterprise Data Platforms, Reporting & Analytics systems to deliver accurate, timely information, insights and innovative technology solutions.
We now have an opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst to join the team.
This is a max-term contract until the end of July 2025. This will based in the Brisbane or Sydney office.

Your impact and contribution
Your role within the Enterprise Data team is to provide dedicated data analysis support to the Remediation team. This will involve you working closely with Remediation analysts and other team members to:

•Identify customers, products and services impacted by an incident.

•Determine if those customers are eligible for remediation.

•Assist with the development of compensation calculations.

•Create customer payment and communication files to drive compensation and customer contact campaigns.

•Performing, where required, quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy of outcomes.
You will leverage all Great Southern Bank data sources, platforms and systems, along with your analytical skills to achieve successful remediation outcomes.
You play a critical role supporting the development and embedment of our customer remediation framework and processes through the creation and execution of bespoke and standardised/repeatable data queries.

Your responsibilities
Analytics & Insights

•Work with the Remediation team to understand the scope of a remediation activity and the key data sources that are required

•Build datasets based on business requirements to identify potentially impacted customers, products and transactions and highlight/resolve any gaps or anomalies that you observe

•Tell stories with data using engaging visualisation, or presentations to communicate your key messages

•Leverage both structured and unstructured data sources to solve business problems.

Stakeholder Engagement

•You are a trusted advisor and supporter within the Enterprise Data Office and the Remediation Team.

•You engage in discovery processes with key stakeholders to really understand their business problems and determine the areas of key analysis and insight investigation.

•You proactively manage stakeholder expectations through thoughtful planning and regular showcasing of outcomes.

•You conduct analysis or build data products to help your stakeholders solve problems through data and provide consultative support to guide them on how to use insights or data products to help make business decisions.

Your experience
Ideally, you will have been in an analytics role for 5+ years with the following exposure:

•3+ years proven experience in performing data analysis in customer remediation projects (essential).

•Proven experience partnering with business stakeholders, building strong relationships & creating trust through delivering analytical outcomes.

•Consultative approach. You are not afraid to challenge stakeholder needs and interpret what they are really trying to ask for.

•Advanced Experience with SAS and SQL to solve for analytical business problems.

•Experience with relevant programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, AWS, Databricks, Python, R, Scala, etc.).

•5+ years' experience in the banking and financial services industry (highly desirable).

•Experience with data visualisation tools (such as Tableau / Power BI).

•Proven understanding of ETL Systems and processes, ideally on a cloud data platform.

•Experience contributing to building data marts or data modelling for an organisation (desirable).

•In-depth consumer banking product knowledge (desirable).

•Independent learning i.e. Datacamp, Kaggle etc. (desirable)

•Experience on Cloud Data Service Offerings i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure etc. (highly desirable)

Your qualifications

•Tertiary qualification in business, finance, IT, computer science, mathematics, economics or equivalent.

•Qualifications and/or experience in SAS.
