Our client has over 40 years' worth of completed projects, many of which are landmark buildings across Australia.

With a portfolio of many high-profile projects, they are an expert builder experienced with working on different sectors including commercial, industrial, education, health and government.

They are now looking for an experienced a Design Manager to join their collaborative and supportive team in Canberra. In this role you will be responsible for the design quality and buildability of a project.

This will include liaising with clients and preparing clients briefs, liaising with design consultants and in house estimators, cost planners and programmers as well as coordinating the preparation and documentation, including BIM, CAD and other software systems.

$90, ,000 + super (depending on experience)

Your typical day as a Design Manager include but not limited to:

  • Manage team engagement and design process.
  • Preparation of scope of work and design brief.
  • Plan and control the delivery of project design to ensure the achievement of quality, completion, and project objectives.
  • Manage the design approval process in accordance with project requirements and program.
  • Demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness in dealing with clients and external design partners.
  • Manage client and stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively with the project team.
  • Manage authority building approvals and local government requirements.
  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience within a construction company as a Design manager
  • Or 5+ years Architecture experience
  • Good understanding and experience in Design & Construction Projects.
  • Knowledge of construction process from start to completion.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Proficiency of technology relevant to the role.
