The Opportunity


Cochlear has fantastic opportunity for a
People & Culture Officer to join our newly established People Advisory Service Team based at our global headquarters in Sydney, Australia.


Our People Advisory Service Team is the first point of contact for all P&C enquires that relate to employee life-cycle processes, programs and policies.

People & Culture Officers are responsible for providing a high quality, efficient and consistent P&C advisory service to all our employee and manager stakeholders.


As a newly established function, you will have the opportunity to help shape how we deliver P&C services to our business.

You will contribute to the development of our P&C knowledge library and execute processes to provide a high-quality, consistent service.


This is a fixed term contract for 8 months, commencing immediately.

_ Key Responsibilities__:

Manage HR systems for all employee lifecycle activities, including:

  • Set-up of new employees on P&C systems
  • Support employees and managers with system issues
  • Action all employment status changes
  • Maintain global organisation charts
  • Undertake simple analysis and prepare reports on employee lifecycle processes

Be the first point of contact for all P&C enquiries and respond with agreed standards and service levels whilst continuing to build self-service capability:

  • Provide timely advice and guidance to employees and managers on all matters relating to employee lifecycle processes, programs and policies
  • Ensure enquiries are, triaged actioned, resolved and tracked in accordance with documented processes
  • Proactively build relationships and engagement within business areas, building confidence and awareness as the first point of contact into P&C

Support cyclical P&C activities and provide administration support for P&C projects and programs:


  • Proactively identify and contribute to process and service improvements

To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Minimum:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a HR sharedservice function.
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service timely, accurate and professional.
  • Display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously but use good judgment to escalate matters and work with other stakeholders to resolve queries where appropriate.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with other stakeholders.

Ideal:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications ideally in Human Resources, Psychology, and/or Industrial Relations.
  • Proficiency in other languages where Cochlear has sizeable office locations.
  • Proficiency in navigating and maintaining data in HRMS systems (Workday preferred).
