Biostatistician/Data Analyst, the Adelaide Medical School (Adelaide EpiCentre)


The Adelaide EpiCentre (Centre for Clinical Epidemiology) will be established in 2023 in partnership with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), under the auspices of the Adelaide Health Innovation Partnership (AHIP).

The Centre will be located at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and provide support for, and training in, clinical and applied research.

Specific areas are epidemiology and study design; biostatistics; data management and analytics; health services research; health economics; implementation science; grantsmanship; and research governance and ethics.


The biostatistician/data analyst will report to the Director of the Adelaide EpiCentre and undertake collaborative research, as well as contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead or contribute to peerreviewed publications, conference presentations and other scientific reports.
  • Lead or contribute to teaching and supervision in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

To be successful you will need:

  • Doctoral qualification in biostatistics, data analytics or equivalent.
  • Strong research track record relative to opportunity, as evidenced by publications, conference proceedings, grant success and supervision of higher degree by research (HDR) students.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programs in biostatistics or other forms of quantitative data analyses.
  • Experience in collaborative health and medical research.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
