About the role


The caseworker will hold a caseload of clients, working across a number of programs in the Migration Support Programs space supporting people seeking asylum and those who are at risk of or who have experienced human trafficking and/or forced marriage.

Caseworkers will conduct assessments, develop and work on collaborative goals with clients and make referrals to appropriate services in the community.

A drivers license is essential. This role also requires flexibility around shared team responsibilities, including rostered shifts and supporting volunteers and students.

About you

  • Proven ability to provide high quality, specialist casework support and case management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning.
  • Proven ability to identify service gaps and manage complex cases within a context of competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma and who experience ongoing safety risks.
  • A sound understanding of the social political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition (including people seeking asylum, trafficked people and people who have been forced into marriage).

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
