About the Role & Team
As a Product Designer, you'll join a respected and welcoming design team.
You'll work closely with a range of small, cross-functional teams to improve products that touch every aspect of school life, from attendance call, classes, and homework, to canteens, yearbooks, and more.
What you'll do:
- Make a real difference, at scale. Our products are used by millions of people across Australia, Ireland, and the UK, every single day. You're involved in everything from product strategy and customer research to UI implementation, so your work has great impact.
- Own the UX and UI for interesting projects of middling complexity. You'll work with your engineering and product partners, with a large amount of autonomy across the design process.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with software engineers, product owners, customer success advocates, and more in an environment where user experience is a respected part of shipping high quality products.
- Create a shared understanding of our customers' problems across our organisation through research, analysis, and data storytelling.
- Contribute to our Compass Design System by maintaining, improving, and building design components, and collaborating with software engineers to bring your designs to life.
What you'll bring:
- Strong facilitation and crossfunctional collaboration skills, and a demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams to solicit and synthesize feedback and facilitate design discussions.
- A good understanding of platform conventions for the web. If you're familiar with iOS and Android too, that's even better
- A strong foundation in usercentered design methodologies and processes, which you use to tackle complex customer problems both independently, and collaboratively.
- A keen eye for detail and quality.
- A knack for storytelling, which helps you explain design decisions clearly and convincingly.
- A portfolio of projects that you're excited to talk about for hours.
