In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating research training that meets the needs of researchers, and sourcing relevant cost-effective internal and external providers.

This role includes research about national offerings and providing reports and recommendations to the Dean, Graduate Research. You will also be required to prepare reports on research training programs for a range of University Committees.


As the Coordinator, Researcher Development you will be responsible for the organisational support for researcher training programs and the dissemination of information related to research training programs within Swinburne University, including maintaining an annual calendar of events and relevant online content.


About you
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing events, including seminars, workshops and conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and identify solutions that might require adaptation of future planning, organisational details and budgeting as part of a continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to enable the incumbent to liaise effectively with staff, students and the public and to generate high quality written material.
  • Excellent information technology skills experience with databases, webbased systems, Wiki management, electronic newsletters, social media.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operations of a tertiary education institution including organisational structures, governance and committee functions, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • A degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in administrative fields; or an equivalent combination or relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • A sound knowledge of the Australian tertiary education context, particularly in relation to research education and research administration.
