About the role:
The role exists to deliver procurement category management across our client's full corporate structure, focusing on Consulting and Legal Services
It will require the development of category plans and strategies, subsequent sourcing/negotiation initiatives and ongoing management of the existing contract portfolio.
- Gather appropriate market and industry intelligence about categories in scope
- Analyse and summarise existing contracts and current spend
- Align to business requirements
- Identify initiatives that derive benefits, through sourcing, demand management and/or contract management opportunities
- Prioritise initiatives according to business criticality, capacity requirements, interdependencies and potential benefits
- Leverage strong collaborative supplier relationships and supplier innovation, which enable additional value for our client
- Define appropriate supply models for each category of spend
- Align Supplier and our client's processes to drive efficiencies for both parties
- Determine the roles & responsibilities between Procurement and stakeholders within our client; this will involve an assessment of complexity, existing intellectual property, risk, legal requirements, budget ownership and other relevant factors are approved by the relevant sponsors within our client
- Establish contracts that are competitive, reduce risk and optimise supply through appropriate SLAs
- Comply with all our client policies, processes and governance
- Planning for a pipeline of contract renewal activity
- Ensuring contract renewals are competitive, delivered through an appropriate supply model and well scoped
- Manage supplier performance including SLA's governance and other contract deliverables
- Execute extensions, variations and terminations of legal instruments that meet stakeholders' business needs
- Monitor leakage indicators and propose viable solutions to category owners and business owners
- Map and identify opportunities to improve demand management
- Resolve supplier disputes that have been escalated or are of a systematic or strategic nature
- Tertiary education, with a Procurement & Supply Chain focus or an Information Technology, Business or Commerce related degree. Desired
- Experienced procurement professional with minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement. Mandatory
- Experience with Consultancy and Legal services type agreements. Desired
- Experience in large organisations with complex environments. Mandatory
- Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base. Mandatory
- Experienced in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results. Mandatory
- Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework and structured procurement approach. Mandatory
- Experience in working with others in a (preferably commercial) strategy setting role. Mandatory
