About the Position
We are thrilled to offer an opening for a Health and Safety Advisor to become part of our team. In this role, you will lead the proactive management of health and safety risks for our employees and contractors under our Energy Hubs, Wind, and Storage division. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include supporting the development of programs aimed at preventing injuries or health issues.
This position is available in Melbourne, Sydney, or Newcastle.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to the enhancement, execution, and assessment of H&S policies, systems, and processes.
- Participate in developing and executing business/H&S initiatives and strategies.
- Collaborate with business unit teams, sharing insights, proposing solutions, and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations.
- Organize HSE contractor forums for major contracting projects as needed by the business.
- Monitor and ensure the application of the HSE Contractor Management Framework.
- Support the Senior Manager in RFP/tender assessments aligned with the framework.
- Monitor project HS performance and implement improvement programs or interventions for sustained performance enhancement.
Desired Qualifications
If you have excelled in a similar H&S advisory role within industries like heavy manufacturing, construction, or other high-risk environments, possessing experience in assisting safety management system implementation in a complex interdisciplinary setting and exposure to contractor management and tendering principles, we are looking for you.
Key Requirements
- University degree in Work Health and Safety Environment or a related business discipline; Diploma or higher qualification.
- Hands-on experience with multiple primary contractor projects and understanding of contractor, sub-contractor relationships, along with familiarity with Contractor Management processes.
- Demonstrated risk management expertise.
- Exposure to auditing/investigation practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven skills in engaging with people/stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
