The Benedict Group of Companies, a family-owned Australian company founded in 1966, has expanded from a small haulage contractor to one of the leading producers and resellers of quarried, recycled, and landscape products in New South Wales.

Benedict Recycling in Belrose seeks a Site Manager to join the team on a full-time basis. The Site Manager will oversee site operations, staff, and ensure production targets are consistently met during each shift. This role entails responsibilities related to safety, environment, people management, quality, and customer satisfaction for their respective shift. The Site Manager will directly assist the Operations Manager and adjust duties as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Production:
    • Manage production feed rates and product yields to meet targets set by the Operations Manager.
    • Assign tasks and job roles to employees to ensure production goals are achieved.

Customer Service:

  • Maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan equipment maintenance and reduce downtime.
  • Respond to breakdowns and coordinate maintenance to ensure plant functionality.
  • Identify maintenance issues and work with the Site Manager to address them.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures during plant start-up and shut-down.

Workplace Health & Safety:

  • Verify that employees possess the necessary competencies to operate equipment safely.
  • Provide regular training on safety procedures to ensure employee competence.
  • Uphold site housekeeping standards and enforce PPE regulations.
  • Respond to workplace injuries and oversee first aid procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to company WHS policies and procedures.
  • Prepare necessary documents such as JSA'S and work permits.

People Management:

  • Foster a positive team culture and collaboration between team members and departments.
  • Handle day-to-day personnel issues and conduct toolbox meetings.
  • Ensure timely completion of paperwork and tasks.
  • Monitor employee attendance and punctuality.

Human Resources:

  • Collaborate with HR in recruitment, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and identify development areas.
  • Manage leave scheduling and probationary check-ins.
  • Monitor environmental aspects during operations.

Quality:

  • Maintain project standards and compliance.
Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Prior experience in Construction, Quarries, Waste, or Recycling.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with heavy plant machinery and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Essential certifications: first aid, EWP, working at heights, and a valid driver's license.
