Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with over 25 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.

Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation:
the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About the role


We are currently looking for a Workforce Development and Industry Participation Project Officer to join our Infrastructure team in NSW.

In this role you will oversee and deliver on commitments under the Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program (ISLP).

You will actively drive the implementation and coordination of initiatives aimed at improving opportunities for women in construction, women in non-traditional construction roles, apprenticeships and trainee programs fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.


You will also be responsible for reporting under the ISLP framework, collaborating with project teams, industry partners and subcontractors to achieve participation outcomes.

This role can be based in Sydney, Dubbo, Blue Mountains or anywhere in-between. There will be some travel to sites in regional NSW. Initial contract role until 2025.

What you'll bring to the team


You will have experience in a similar role with experience strengthening the pipeline of women entering and staying in the construction sector, ideally with a strong network with local schools and industry partners.

You will be experienced in facilitating pre-employment or pre-apprenticeship/traineeship programs to provide pathways for entry into the industry as well as experience developing other initiatives to increase participation and retention rates of women on site.
