Mining


Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition.

Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you'll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.

What you'll do:

  • Supporting the successful delivery of engineering projects by our WSP practices, working with various members across the MIPD team to achieve final project outcomes.
  • Prepare project reports reflecting progress, financial and resource information, actual costs, earned value and forecasts.
  • Ensure all cost, schedule and risk project reporting and activities comply with company and client needs.
  • Support the project control function on various projects.
  • Quality control of timesheet data for all staff/contractors and liaising with project management to ensure that timesheets are accurate.
  • Collate and compile internal monthly reporting activities.
  • Expense tracking and forecasting
  • Preparation of Change Notices and managing the project change register
  • Review the project program and provide summaries.
  • Cost control and Scheduling of various projects
  • Update on resourcing and resource planners.
  • Assist with project setup and closeout activities to support the project manager in line with WSP procedures and processes.
  • Assist with the preparation, issuing and tracking of monthly invoices.

What we'll love about you:

  • Relevant degree in Business or Engineering
  • 4 + years' experience in Project Controls
  • Financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, billing plans and project controls.
  • Proficiency in Cost Control concepts and tools
  • Competent in risk management, preferably with some experience in risk assessment and how contingency is managed in the cost and schedule forecasting process.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as PowerBI, MS Excel etc
  • Working exposure to industry standard scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project etc
  • Welldeveloped communication and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Previous experience in a project management/consultancy environment is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within a team environment and autonomously.
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace.
