About the role

The Fitzroy to Gladstone pipeline project is a joint venture between BMD and McConnell Dowell, aiming to provide long-term water security to the region and support the emerging hydrogen industry. As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor on this significant project, you will have the chance for future opportunities within the McConnell Dowell business. The role involves working on a 15/6 roster with site uplift.

As the Senior Health and Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting on health and safety matters to the Health and Safety Manager and Construction Manager.
- Advising construction personnel on risk mitigation and management.
- Conducting audits on high-risk activities and reporting findings to the Project Manager.
- Compiling and analyzing health and safety data across the project.
- Completing incident investigations and reports in alignment with requirements.
- Reviewing site risk registers and supporting Risk Assessment Workshops.
- Providing ongoing advice to supervisors and workers to minimize hazards.
- Assisting in implementing corrective actions based on identified hazards and incidents.
- Working towards achieving project health and safety targets and fostering a strong safety culture.
About you
- Minimum five years of experience in health and safety management in construction.
- Previous experience in construction projects, especially pipelines, is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
- Completion of internal health and safety training courses.
