About the role:

For many years, Anglicare has provided affordable housing options for vulnerable people.

Our Social and Affordable Housing Program targets people aged over 55 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness throughout the Sydney and Illawarra regions.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional who will support Anglicare's Mission by providing recreational, leisure and lifestyle programs to our Residents in our Affordable Housing program across Central and Western Sydney.

This is a Permanent Part-Time role.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Assessment of resident lifestyles and activities needs on commencement of tenancy and at any time when changes occur reporting these changes to the Specialist Case Manager and Intensive Tenancy Manager
  • Ensures a calendar of activities and events are well communicated to residents and that the activities included are evaluated on completion
  • Ensures effective communication using the appropriate tools to the wider Housing team to ensure that the resident preferences and social needs are met
  • Contributes to enriching the lives of individuals through social, recreational, learning and spiritual activities
  • Contributes to residents having access to a wider community through contact with the community and by arranging outings that allow the residents to stay in communication and have meaningful relationships within their chosen community in a safe and healthful way.
  • Contributes to wider Anglicare events by participation, assisting residents with building relationships within the Anglicare community.

About You:

  • Diversional Therapy qualifications or Leisure and Lifestyle Certificate IV equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of recreational, leisure interests and lifestyle programs to residents
  • Current NSW Driver's License
  • Ability to deliver optimal services to residents through liaison, resourcing and negotiation
  • Highly developed oral, computer, and written communication skills
  • Welldeveloped planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Diligent caring and patient attitude when dealing with residents and staff
  • Experience working with older persons and persons who have experienced risk or actual homelessness would be advantageous
