About your new role:

Your role also includes:

  • In collaboration with care teams, residents and families, develops an individualised Lifestyle Plan with each resident and/or their representative that integrates into their care plan
  • Works with the therapy team and in collaboration with the OT to prepare and develop programs suitable for individual and collective residents' needs, incorporating the celebration of culturally and socially significant events
  • Observes for signs of resident illbeing and prioritises actions to alleviate distress and prevent escalation of responsive behaviours
  • Actively supports residents to build mutually beneficial relationships with other residents for the purpose of companionship.
  • Assigns responsibility for therapy and leisure program implementation to rostered Therapy and Leisure Partners
  • Facilitating a creative work environment

Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of Certificate IV Allied Health
  • Demonstrated understanding of personcentered principles and the ability to engage people in meaningful activity
  • Understanding the needs of people with dementia in relation to leisure and therapeutic activities are essential
  • Ability to complete busy workload and respond to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Willingness to obtain or provide proof of 2023 Influenza & COVID19 Vaccination
  • Willingness to undergo a preemployment medical
