to join our 2023 intake

As a 1st year apprentice, under the supervision of qualified and experienced technicians, your key areas of responsibilities & duties will include:

  • Manufacturer, supply, repair and install electronic equipment on defence vessels (ships/submarines) etc.
  • Technicians work both from the workshop and on site at the vessels directly (BAE).
  • Role will be to work towards a trade's role for the organisation.
  • They will be required to work in confined spaces, working at heights on masts on the ships,
- be technically driven and a passion for problem solving and root cause analysis.

  • They will l learn soldering, electronic configuration, and support a technician on site.
  • Develop and adhere to the high standards of health & safety management required by our customers.
  • Have a developed selflearning attitude and confident approach to new situations & opportunities.
  • Attendance of TAFE and successful completion of tertiary training as part of this apprenticeship
  • Strong development of planning & prioritizing skills when dealing with multiple requests, etc installation & commissioning.
  • Most of the work would be programming, testing, and commissioning of security systems on infrastructure projects

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated interest in Information Technology, Electronics, Defence force
  • Be willing to commit to the completion of a
    fouryear apprenticeship.
  • Completion of year 12 or similar previous work experience
  • High level of Communication skills
  • Be able to pass an Aptitude Test at a high level
  • Well presented
  • White Card
  • Drivers Licence
  • Great attitude and demonstrated reliability
  • Willing and able to travel to sites
