About the role
We are seeking an experienced Event Producer to join our Events & Festivals Team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing the City's Civic Programs and Protocols.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop and implement the City of Parramatta's Civic Programs and Protocols, including but not limited to the delivery of Australian Citizenship Ceremonies, Flag Raising Ceremonies, Lord Mayoral Receptions, Civic Events, Australia Day Awards program, Key to the City program, Flag Protocol programs, City inbound and outbound delegations, and City official relationships.
  • Plan, project manage and execute meaningful, high quality Civic events that foster positive reputation and outcomes for the City of Parramatta and a platform for the Lord Mayor and Councillors to engage with the community and key city stakeholders.
  • Lead the City of Parramatta's Civic team and oversee external contractors working on the Civic Programs.
  • Provide support and advice to the Lord Mayor, Councillors, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team, and relevant Council staff, in the planning and delivery of Council's Civic Program and issues as they relate to protocol.
  • Ensure that the appropriate Civic ceremonial and protocol requirements are adhered to in the delivery of Council's Civic Programs.
  • Research and establish strategic opportunities and initiatives for the Civic Program promoting excellence and the reputation of the City of Parramatta and Lord Mayor.
  • Develop briefing notes, detailed event briefs and reports regarding the Civic Programs for the Lord Mayor, Councillors, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate and mitigate any potential or escalated reputation risks for the City of Parramatta and Lord Mayor in relation to the Civic Programs.
  • Provision to act as Master of Ceremonies at Civic events, ceremonies and engagements as required by Council.

About You


To succeed in this role, you will possess a proven track record in civic events, civic protocols, and event management.

Bringing a deep understanding of civic protocols in a local government context, you'll also have experience working with staff at a senior management, CEO, and board level.


You have solid experience in budget development and reconciliation, event management, and reporting skills and effective communication with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels, acting professionally and with discretion.


Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in event management, project management, or executive support to a senior level manager or team or a related discipline with significant relevant experience (typically 5 years plus).

What's on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $93,903 to $103,386 plus 10.5% superannuation.
