Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to the solar farm construction and operation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the solar farm site, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and employees to raise safety awareness and promote a culture of safety on site.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks, with a focus on solar farmspecific hazards such as electrical safety, working at heights, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents and accidents, and provide recommendations for prevention, including near misses and property damage.
  • Train employees, contractors, and site visitors on solar farm safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Stay uptodate with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to solar farm safety.
  • Advise and assist in the development of emergency response plans and procedures specific to the solar farm site.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and project teams in addressing safetyrelated concerns and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present safety reports to management, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Participate in safety meetings, committees, and relevant forums, sharing knowledge and lessons learned to continuously improve safety performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Advisor or a similar role in the renewable energy industry, preferably with experience in solar farm projects.
  • Indepth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, with a focus on construction and renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with solar farmspecific hazards, including electrical safety, working at heights, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification in the context of solar farms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detailoriented with exceptional analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Proficient in using safety management systems and software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30Hour Construction Safety, First Aid/CPR, and Electrical Safety would be an asset.
