About the Centre/Service
Shalimar Park is a community-based kindergarten in Dandenong North. As an exceeding-rated service, we provide a high-quality play-based education for culturally diverse families.

With a hands-on approach, the leadership team supports and mentors the staff in developing their pedagogical practice and establishing nurturing and inclusive relationships with children, families, and the community.

As part of the service's commitment to continual development, professional development is provided throughout the year to enhance the staff's skills and knowledge.

Regular team meetings and training is provided throughout the year with support from external services and consultants including internal meetings to facilitate critical self-reflection of educator practice.


Work Days of the Role
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Contact time is 9:30am to 2:30pm)

Description
We are seeking applicants for our 4-year-old group program.

This position is for a part-time diploma-qualified educator to join our experienced teacher and co-educator in one of our 4-year-old groups with up to 31 children.

The applicant will demonstrate experience in play-based programs and strong ability in working with children with a diverse range of abilities.

We offer a salary based on the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement 2020 (VECTEA), regular professional development opportunities, and a collaborative and professional working environment.


Qualifications

To be considered for the position you must
- a minimum of 2 years experience

  • Hold an approved Diploma qualification in Early Childhood
  • Be able to support the Teacher in planning and implementing the program, and confident in taking observations of children's learning and development
- a strong understanding and the capacity to work with children with a diverse range of abilities

  • A sound understanding of playbased pedagogy
- work and manage time effectively with mínimal supervision,
- have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team.

  • Work in a professional manner at all times and ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law (National Law), Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations), relevant curriculum framework, the Quality Improvement Plan, and policies and procedures of the service
