Manager Risk and Control Advisory - Supplier Governance

About the business & your team
CommSec is Australia's leading online retail stockbroker providing customers with online and mobile trading solutions.

The CommSec Controls Office comprises of the Business Profile Management, Governance, Technology Risk and Supplier Governance teams.

Our purpose is to enable CommSec in achieving its strategic priorities through effective management and governance of risk and compliance obligations.

We do so through accurate assessment and timely reporting of CommSec's risk and compliance environment, adequate maintenance of CommSec's AFSL, as well as effective management of our Technology, Cybersecurity and Supplier risks.

You will also have opportunities to learn and develop in the role across all of the areas of responsibility of the CCO team.


Key responsibilities for this role includes:

  • Provide advisory support to CommSec business with regards to Supplier Lifecycle Management.
  • Monitoring and governance of Supplier obligations including controls, SLAs and incidents.
  • Conduct and attend supplier governance meetings.
  • Governance reporting to Business Owners and relevant Forums/Committees on Supplierrelated matters.
  • Liaise with Business Banking to understand and deliver group initiatives including framework related changes.
  • Contribute to a proactive risk and control culture and collaborate with the business
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the CommSec Business and the wider Group.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience and knowledge in Supplier Governance and Frameworks
  • Knowledge and understanding of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks
  • Experience in Operational or Compliance Risk is advantageous
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Extensive experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience, and/or in Operational Risk management roles
