Head of Delivery and Planning - Financial Services

Our client, a leading financial services business, is seeking a Head of Delivery and Planning to join their team.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects and programs across the business.


Experience required

  • Experience leading the planning & delivery phases of large transformation programs in other large FS businesses or telco's with accountability falling to you.
  • Have delivered multiple $100M + programs within large businesses
  • Consultant, advisory, executive management or director background. (not clevel)
  • Background in business modernisation transformation

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive delivery and planning strategy to ensure successful project outcomes, including risk management, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead a team of project managers and delivery specialists, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to drive highperformance and career development
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand their priorities and ensure delivery aligns with strategic objectives
  • Define and implement project governance frameworks to ensure effective decisionmaking, risk management, and control across the project portfolio
  • Continuously review and improve delivery processes and methodologies, ensuring they are fit for purpose and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Advisory and engagement position with no direct reports but the use of business & project teams to deliver once planning phase completed
  • Develop strong relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of outsourced projects

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a delivery and planning leadership role within a financial services business, with a proven track record of successful project delivery of large multifaceted programs totalling $100M+
  • Experience leading the planning & delivery phases of large transformation programs in other large FS businesses or telcos
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading highperforming teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute on longterm delivery and planning strategies
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience implementing effective project governance frameworks
  • Experience working with external vendors and partners to deliver complex projects
