About the Role

Reporting into the Head of Industrial Relations & Compliance, you will provide specialist advice, analysis and support on human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and projects.

As the Senior Advisor - HR / IR Projects, you will take ownership of the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • As a trusted advisor for the business, provide specialist advice and support on people and Industrial Relations Compliance concerns, providing valuable insights, contributing to the compliance program of work.
  • In conjunction with the Analyst, provide industrial interpretation to support analysis and workforce insights, working on a series of wage & entitlement compliance matters for the organisation, as well as performing Quality Assurance checks as required.
  • Support compliance projects by offering key industrial relations insights, providing interpretations of instrument clauses and enterprise agreements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and relevant industrial laws.
  • Develop detailed project plans for human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and other projects as required, including the setting of key milestones, resourcing and cost considerations, identification of blockers and enablers, and risks and mitigations for these.
  • Prepare documentation and draft correspondence to support human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and other projects.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Collins Foods' human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and other projects, having regard to workplace legislation and recent case decisions.
  • Liaise with and oversee the management of external vendors to ensure delivery of agreed outputs, ensuring that any matters requiring support are escalated to the Head of Industrial Relations and Compliance for resolution.
  • Undertake data analysis to support compliance activities and other projects, as required.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of agreed key milestones, in accordance with the developed project plans.
  • Work with key stakeholders, as required, to ensure delivery of key milestones against the agreed project plans.
  • Provide other support on human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and other projects as directed.
  • Assist the Head of Industrial Relations and Compliance to prepare updates on human resource and industrial relations compliance activities and other projects for the Compliance Working Party and other relevant bodies.

(This role will be on a contract basis for 12-months)

About You

As the Senior Advisor - HR / IR Projects you will bring to the role the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in a HR/ER/IR role, with demonstrated experience in providing advice and support on ER/IR matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading HR/IR projects, including development of detailed project plans.
  • High level interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to manage relationships with external vendors to drive delivery of agreed outputs.
  • Ability to approach people issues with a commercial perspective, having regard to industrial compliance and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian workplace law, including the Fair Work Act.
